It is our mission to help our community with the simplest to the most complex resources needed for everyday living. Whether it be food, clothes, education, or linking resources, we are here to help! Our mission is to simply help those that need a helping hand -- it's something we all need sometimes. |
VISION
Our vision is to feed the hungry child or clothe the mother that needs assistance for her big interview tomorrow. Our vision is to give to the gentleman needing socks to warm his cold feet. We give to guidance and resources to the sick and shut-in. Our vision is to impact our community by creating room for all those in need. |
The Inspiration of BerniceBernice’s Room is named after Bernice Allen. Born in Honduras, Bernice came to the United States as a young adult. Raising her family on the east side of San Antonio before settling on the northeast side of town with her husband, EW Allen (Deceased, Retired Air Force).
In her home, Bernice converted her garage into a sewing room that served as an unofficial landmark in the San Antonio community. Women, men, and children came to Bernice's Room for alterations, custom garments, food, therapy, and support. Bernice continued this great mission, helping EVERYONE she came in contact with, before her debilitating stroke in 2012. Bernice's Room has now been officially birthed by her daughter, Traci. |
